Argentina is the eighth largest country in the world, located at the southern extreme of South America and is a fascinating land of geographical contrasts. This spectacularly beautiful country is blessed with a wonderful climate and diverse scenery from the snow-capped Andes mountain ranges bordering neighbouring Chile, the agricultural heartland ‘pampas’, a vast area scattered with many cattle ranches and decadent colonial style mansions known as estancias, wine growing regions producing an excellent variety of wines and the stunning Lake District of Northern Argentine Patagonia to the awesome Iguazu Falls on the Brazil border.
Southern Argentine Patagonia is home to some of the world’s most beautiful natural attractions including picturesque mountains, glaciers, glacial lakes and icebergs. The southernmost tip of this region, otherwise known as ‘the edge of the world’ is the closest land to the South Pole. Whilst there is a golf club in this area, it is probably not the place to which most golfers would travel to play golf, unless you have a burning desire to play golf at the edge of the world!
